My role at Playtonic involved making art assets for the user interface, this covered a wide range of skills, iconography, typography, graphic design, 3D modelling and logo design. I would work closely with UX to make a concept for a screen or feature, code would get the bare bones of the feature up and running and then I would replace assets and tweak layout and settings to get it as close to concept as possible.
I would work very closely with UX and code to ensure excellent layout and functionality, it was a hugely collaborative process and one I enjoyed immensely.
Game Designer
Core Gaming - UK
2018-2021
The work environment at Core was very fast, sometimes just a 5 month turn around for a game, concept to release. I was tasked with making slot reel icons, backgrounds and characters, I would also animate the characters in Spine 2D. During the concept phases of a games creation I would make rough wireframes of how certain features would advance from screen to screen in Photoshop.
Using a range of different skills to achieve my goals I worked very closely with the game designers to ensure assets were delivered in a timely manner and to rectify any issues that arose during development.
